that doesn't sound logical at all...it seems very impersonal that a band would play with their backs to the audience. In fact, it seems down right rude. The closer I am to witnessing what the musicians are actually doing--as opposed to having to envision/guesstimate--the more personal the experience...hence the whole notion of smaller shows being more personal. It's cool to differentiate n all but the whole point of a musical performance is to "SHOW" your music...visually.
