not so strange, i do prefer killing jokes version of the wait instead of metallicas version, i do love metallica tho

Taking nothing away from killing joke for who and what they are and their greatness in their own right (yes, I know it's subjective and you're entitled to your opinions) but historically speaking they're nowhere NEAR in the ballpark with Metallica. It's like comparing a scrappy singles hitter like Bucky Dent to a mammoth of the game like Babe Ruth.

Yeah, they're both major leaguers, but there's a reason one's an all time great hall of famer and the other one's remembered more for one big hit in one game ('78 pennant game against the sawx, for those needing an FYI). HOF's exist for a reason, and there's obvious reasons why one's in and one isn't.

I think this is an awesome song, but like it or not and agree or not (trust me, i'm right on this, lol), there wouldn't even BE a discussion on the matter if Metallica hadn’t covered it. Too argue the OBVIOUS facts on this is utter ignorance. No one in their right mind would say Dent's 40 HR, .247 BA, 423 RBI don't compare to Ruth's 714 HR (3rd ALL TIME), .342 BA (10th ALL TIME), 2213 RBI (2nd ALL TIME).

So you’ve got to be somewhat jaded to compare Killing Time's grammy goose egg and absence from the HOF to Metallica's NINE grammies and celebrated HOF induction while still in their prime. I mean, are you really going to argue that a band who has sold around 100000 records in their entire existence to date (n, BTW, more since their Metallica cover than before, i.e. just their ASSOCIATION with Metallica has greatly boosted their fanbase) can compare with a band who has sold over 200 MILLION???

And while I personally like everything pre black album IMMENSELY more so than everything after, don’t come at anyone with the 'sell out' tag, cause spreading your art is the ultimate goal. And when that's done in SPITE of attempts NOT to fit the status quo, then you're an innovator, not a 'sell out.' It's really pretty simple: Killing Joke = awesome band...Metallica = all time great. Say you like one over the other all you want, but ‘better?’ Please.
