This is one of the most beauitful fish I've seen, it makes me sad to see them in pet stores though. Dont get me wrong I love aquariums, its my most favorite hobby, but I only gee fish that are for aquariums only and not taken from their home.

@iCantTinkOfaGudName I have well over a decade of fishkeeping experience, as well (I think I'm at around 12 years now), so I've been at it long enough to know that fish do not "like," or "dislike," anything or anyone, and common sense would lead me to believe that having "friendly," lion fish would not exactly be something to celebrate anyway (it would end badly for both humans and the fish).

@drgnfrc13 Not really. Im a well experienced fishkeeper. I am Very interested in them and have studied them for a very long time now. If you read up some about lakes that have never had divers and boats going around you can see that the fish do not swim away, they come up close to them.
You probably know alot aswell but im just saying. :)

@iCantTinkOfaGudName Wow, you have lots of misconceptions about fish.

@iCantTinkOfaGudName I once spoke to a very wise park ranger who said that your brand of logic is the reason why wild animals are shot for attacking humans. Don't get me wrong, I love lionfish. I keep several and they're spoiled rotten. But I wouldn't want an overly affectionate lionfish coming up to me in the ocean for a quick cuddle.

@mannurko I keep several tanks with lionfish and I've been stung on accident while doing tank maintenance. When I was done vomiting I drove myself to the hospital for a tetanus shot. So I mean ... pet them if you want, but you better make sure you're up to date on your vaccinations first. Unless you're allergic. Then it won't matter because you'll be dead. =D

thank you for putting that fish back in the ocean hes ok because they are originally from those seas, but i would have pet it, i just love this fish they are sooo cool

well i was told by divers to stay away from the coral due to lionfish and other fish. they said lion fish can paralyse or kill you. ive rather take their advice!

Divers aren't scientists... a lion fish can give a nasty sting but it's not going to kill you.
Perhaps it's more like a bee, to some people a bee sting is nothing but to a few it is deadly.
That doesn't keep you away from the flowers, though- so shouldn't keep you from appreciating corals and all the beauty and other fish.
