Tami Green testifies to Members of Congress and their staffs on what it feels like to have Borderline Personality Disorder. Tami was newly diagnosed with BPD and not yet in remission during this speech. She went on to successfully complete treatment and is now in remission of symptoms and currently works with others wanting recovery from BPD. • Dear Tami,

Thank you so much for your wonderful speeches. I have linked this video in an email to members of my introductory psychology course's tutorial groupmates (there are 25 of them, and 26, if you include my tutor), in an effort to help them see that there is a person behind the disorder. Thank you once again.

  • Thank you for spreading the word. Borderline Personality Disorder is highly treatable :-)

  • Thank you for posting this! My dad just bought your book for me and I can't wait to read it!

  • Thanks for watching! The transcript of the Congressional testimony is on my website. I'll work on getting the words to the other speech up on the site for you! I was very newly diagnosed when I testified before Congress in this video, btw, and still suffering from most of the symptoms.

    Hope you enjoy the book!

    -Tami

  • Tami. Thank you.

i was diagnosed awhile ago. probably 5 months now. i am still coming to understand it but the initial diagnosis was of absolute relief.

i'm still trying to understand how this could not b my fault, but that stage of healing will come to me when im ready i guess.

its hard when no one understands.. but seeing you on youtube here tonight has filled that hole in my heart. and the fact that theres hope out there makes me want to get up in the morning :).. Thanks ..

    Samantha.

  • @athena20goddess:

Hi, I am Tami's assistant, Samantha. Like Tami, I have recovered from the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder. Tami gets so much mail, that she unfortunately, can't personally get to answering it. So, she's asked me to lovingly answer you :)

She said to thank you for your kind and loving words. You seem like such a sweet person and she also wishes you the best.

Have an amazing new year and we hope to hear from you.

    Warmly,

    Samantha

  • Thank you

  • positive daily affirmations over and over til you start believing If a person maintains a positive hopeful attitude keeping a open mind to real possibilities and praying to God or nature, the power of the mind for healing and restoration therapeutic endeavors are likely to be more effective than if one is filled with doubt fear and unbelief Negative thoughts-as well as negative attitudes and emotions like anger and resentment build a resistance,do everyday positive affirmations

  • I want to too thank you. I hope to one day be able to do these things also, but right now I'm still struggling to get through it. I have the BPD and am in DBT therapy with a wonderful therapist, but it seems the closer I get to the end, the harder it gets and the more I want to give up. Watching your videos keep me focus on my goal, though, and so I owe you my thanks.

  • Tami,

    My name is Tammy, too.

I want to thank you for doing these videos. I have watched them on You Tube this week.

I have not been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, but I am quite sure I have this as well. It has been a problem since childhood. I have alienated friends and family with my outbursts of anger. I have a low stress tolerance. I replay dramatic scenes in my mind and can't seem to just "let it go" as others tell me.

  • Thank you Tami, your strength and courage is remarkable.

  • I am pretty sure i have this too! i am seeing a theripist it affects my marrige/work i fear of loseing control sometimes very painfull i hope i can be a good person/husband

  • I think I have this and my life sucks
