so it is about skirting the line kind of like gymnastics. if you can do it and make it look good its o.k. but if you are off by just a little you get points off.
in a usual 10-20K how many penalties gets you DQd?
@zencat999 when you start you want to be as technically perfect as possible but when you get better and you want to get faster you have to be on the verge of being illegal. When i race i am always just on the verge and as long as they can't see me lift then i am fine. the lifting that they do doesn't really affect the time to much maybe by a few seconds but since this is a distance event a few seconds isn't alot of time.
and if you watch closely...some of these "walkers" are coming off the ground with both feet in the "flight" section and only "walking" when they are in front of judges.
and I am seeing this at full speed not slo mo.
I am trying to get my style together but watching this it seems more like a cheating contest.
who can get away with the most without getting D.Q.d.
and if this is the only way of getting these times...is that really walking?
thanks for the video it is excelent, but can you translate it to spanish language please? some of the ideas of this video i dont understand, im a latinoamerican racewalker :s
Fantastic. Thank you for posting. I'm new to race walking and will try the different styles illustrated so well in this video.

@mok77e
dude.
if you can post a comment in english...then translate it yourself.
(no disrespect).
thats what I would do.
and then repost with a spanish text.
I think that would be cool.
race walkers have to stick together or the sport will die.

@TRBNGR666 I don't know if you have already found out but a DQ is based on two occurences.
1. Bent knee as it is on the ground.
2. Both feet of the ground( Flight Phase)
These two rules though have to be seen by the human eye not by camrea.
