This Dementia Awareness Week, Alzheimer's Society is keen for people to find out five key facts about dementia.
Dementia Awareness Week 2012 will take place in England, Northern Ireland and Wales from 20-26 May.

Ray Winstone - "It's not a natural part of growing old"
Tony Robinson - "It's caused by diseases of the brain. The most common of these is Alzheimer's."
Nell McAndrew - "It's not just about losing your memory."
Terry Pratchett - "It can affect thinking, communicating and doing everyday tasks."
Arlene Phillips - "It's possible to live well with it."
Terry Pratchett - "There is certainly more to a person, than the dementia."

BEING THERE. Thats my life with Dementia. Just being there...365 days a year. My poor mam. I am a broken man. Please just eat this food and drink this drink. Thats how it is. My life requests are tiny. I dont want to climb a freakin mountain. I dont want anything for myself. Please Mam, just swallow this food, please just swallow this milk. God it hurts so much. ONE person with Dementia, TWO lives destroyed. But thats love.But WHY my Mam.....WHY My Mam, poor Mam. Fuckin life.
