Model Turbine

Here are the major components of my model turbine recently rebuilt after fixing the oil distributor. The rotor has been taken straight off a nissan 180sx -Garrett T25. I machined the original rotor down to 7.9 and 8 on the bearing end, cut it to length then turned a left hand m5 thread on the end. This then screws on to an extension rotor i made from high tensile steel. The turbine is a radial turbine that i have adapted into an axial wheel which actually worked surprisingly although the wheel theoretically is not thermodynamically efficient in this position.
Apart from that the rest of the turbine is your typical power plant from which i have got no power figures from yet.

did you build each part or you can get them somewhere else?

built each part the only things not built from scratch are the compressor wheel and turbine they were taken out of a t25 turbo and also the bearings

every thing there has been built from things like sheet metal and high tensile bolts and things the only parts that i have not scratch built myself were the compressor, turbine and i modified the shaft to accommodate a longer length

hey mate no measurements so far its not quite running the way i want it too ill be rebuilding and modifying the back end when i get back from college/university (what ever they call it where your from)

Cool! Have you any measured data like EGT, RPM and pressure ratio? that would be really interesting! I built 2 similar turbines but the bearings still don't last for a long time (EGT=640°C probably too high)
