Scotties are smart, independent souls and even trainable given the right incentive. Perhaps more than any other breed, the Scottie has been immortalized in high art and pop culture.

  • Dogs with mustaches are just awesome.

  • @elorasmom The measure also doesn't take into account the wolf. Wolves have a bigger brain capacity and are more intelligent than any dog, yet they would rate poorly if they were judged on how well they learn tricks or follow human cues. The more primitive dog breeds are seen as less intelligent just because they are more wolf than human, and that's not fair! Alot of Scotties are smarter than alot of people.

  • I love my scottie she is so fun

  • @Jeroenoman Or should you call it Brostache?

  • I have a Scottie that will be a year old next month. She's super sweet, smart, and playful. She is really stubborn though, she's also fearless. I love my little Scottie and would recommend them to anyone :)

  • lol my scotch knows how to go up and go down the stairs of the 3rd apartment(where i live),pee on a rug, poop right place and sit :P

thumbs up if u hav or want a terrier and u love them

  • Yeah, they can be crusty but if you happen to come across a friendly Scottie, they tend to be insanely gregarious.

  • Our scottie LOVES people and could care less if we are around if there are other people there. Scotties were bred to hunt larger animals in burrows (otters and badgers) so they have very large teeth for a small dog. The stubborn part is dead on though.

  • Only 2 treats for sociability??? I'm a twenty-something who lives with her scottie and I SWEAR my friends only come over to see and play with HER. It's so cute that I don't mind. I've grown up with dogs and I don't know if she's just unique for the breed, but she's on the top of the list for one of the most social dogs I've ever met!

  • @TheEquestrianForever Scotties used to be used to hunt small animals like, rabbit and squiral, they are violent and should not engage in violent activities like tug of war or wrestling, they are lovable, but they will be hard to control unless you show you are dominant. They won't follow your directions, like they won't stop unless you say "No" Loud and firm. They also shed little to none. Thats about all I know about scotties.

  • My grandparents just lost their boxer (she was only 3) really smart dog they miss her soo much I had a great idea,my grandma has always wanted a scottish terrior so I told my mom why dont we get her one this Christmas? And we are I can't wait to see her face.I really hope this puppy will live a lot longer p.s. if you have any info. on them that you would like to share please do.
