That's cool.I spent my younger years living in Trinidad so a lot of memories seeing guys like him play in Queens Park oval is only in my head.Luckily I was able to see the Sir Viv live on several occasions there.Cool thing was the high school I went to had their sports field directly in the back of the oval. When we had phys-ed class & the WI was playing they would always let us off early. We would walk down to the oval and the gate attendants would always let school kids in for free.

problem with us Viv fans is that we have nothing to look forward to...because we firmly believe there can be never be another Viv...:(

Viv has a brother. In his younger days they rekon his brother was was a shade better than Viv. His brother gave up cricket as a career so it was only Viv thay had to try to combat.

I assume that cricket played in the West INdies wasn't televised back in the '80s

Very nice to hear this. I wish they would allow kids free to watch cricket matches now. Unfortunately they don't and half the stadiums have become covered in one box after another and sold in bulk corporates and VIP's. Such a sad way to take out the fun of enjoying sport. Too much money in the game especially because of T 20 is killing cricket for what people like Viv stood for.

During this match Botham reportedly told that only position from where they can catch Viv was the last row in the gallery.

a right arm pacer, bowling negative line from around the wicket at 140ks should tie up him..atleast for a couple of overs.
