Been messing around with gGDGD tuning recently and decided to record these three tunes as a medley on my trusty Lee Lone Star (which hasn't been seen in awhile.) I really like this tuning. I hope you enjoy!

Cripple Creek - I'm able to play part A in two octaves which is cool.

Alonzo Janes - An original tune by a freed slave and named after himself. I learned it from a youtube video of jorsh123 and by ear from the fiddle playing of Mel Durham who got it from his Father who got it from Alonzo himself.

Falls of Richmond - just a cool tune that I think sounds particularly good in this tuning with the low G drone (excuse the amateur video - and playing!)

  • Thanks Jorsh, I learned Alonzo Janes from your video (and a Mel Durham CD!)

  • That's pretty good.
