What tactics should the climate movement adopt in fighting unprecedented climate change? Helensburgh mobilised ~ 500, but it was pitted against coalmine workers who like us are also exploited for capitalist ends. The Government speaks of action on climate, but it proposes to build new coal power stations whilst not saving jobs in Solar Systems. A movement opposing new coal power stations won't conflict with existing workers. Fighting for renewables favours green jobs, bringing workers on side.

the only problem is that an increase to 450 ppm makes us effecttively screwed, let alone an increase to 1200 ppm. There are better ways to get a better growth in legumes and all crops, such as using biochar, which doubles productivity.

Conspiracy of the century? Hackers 'expose' climate change November 23, 2009 Hackers have tried to prove global warming researchers are massaging the figures - after stealing sensitive emails fro...

@cmakanda13 Not, not a conspiracy. At most, the stolen emails exposed a few scientists who developed a siege mentality in the face of sustained attacks by contrarians and failed to maintain full transparency around their data and methods.
The emails don't weaken the scientific case for serious action on climate change which has been solid for at least a decade.

Climate change .....what a lie when will people wake up to this money making scam ...the winter in the uk 2009-2010 -1 to -6 temp.......

@cmakanda13 Hmmm, but wait, what about the record warm winter in Vancouver forcing them to chopper snow in for the Olympics?
You can't tell if the Earth's warming or cooling by looking in only one place at one time. You have to consider long-term global average temperature, which is clearly warming.
The money-making is in the oil/coal industry (eg Exxon world's most profitable corporation) and the scam is the disinformation they use to sow doubt and delay serious climate action.

When i did my Horticultural degree we studied the economic feasibility of increasing C02 in greenhouses, to improve plant growth. An increase to a level 1200ppm gave a 27% growth increase in Legumes. The main technical issues were vehicular access and containment problems. Do you want a copy of the literature..? I still have it.
