Wow! thank you! I subscribed in hopes you'll bring out more tutorials on different flowers! :) I'm very new to cake decorating and this one was by far the most helpful because not everything can just be added to a cake some has to be done on the cake :) thanks a bunch!

another quick question... how do I do the roses with that 2nd different color just on the edge of the rose??
mainserra 4 years ago
This is done by carefully loading the pastry bag with one half one color, one half the other color. It's a pain in the neck but worth it if you like the effect!

to make the roses on the side of the cake should I do it directly on the cake.. or should I do on the holder and than move to the cake???

I would say do it on the flower nail and then put it on the cake (put it in the freezer for a few minutes first and it won't get destroyed while you're moving it.) This would work for a rose placed on the bottom edge of a cake. A rose on the middle of the side of a cake may be difficult; even if you could somehow get it to stick to the side, as soon as the cake is brought out to room temperature gravity would make the rose fall off or become misshappen.

...now how do you get it from the parchment paper to the cake?

The parchment here is actually just for practicing on. Watch the whole series to see how to make the roses. Then they would be placed onto a frosted cake and these last touches would be piped right onto the cake.
