  • The modern bowed psaltery was indeed invented in early 20th century. But the Psaltery as a plucked or strummed instrument was mentioned in several places in the Bible. It was played by King David. The dulcimer is also mentioned. I am sure that the modern instruments are much different than the originals...such as steel strings, modern materials. But the instruments ARE mentioned in the Bible.

  • that "bowed psaltery" is the coolest fucking thing i've ever seen o.0

  • Nice piece! The music was beautiful; the two instruments sound real nice together. I particularly enjoyed the crickets and peepers in the background after you finished. It reminded my of the Dillards' "A Night In the Ozarks." Thanks!

PS: To Chip865: I don't know what you mean by the "modern bowed psaltery", but plucked AND bowed psalteries have been portrayed in many extant medieval tapestries, manuscripts, and painting. They've been around for centuries.

  • Beautiful!! I'm learning both instruments..!! And thoroughly enjoyed hearing them played together!

  • Thats like a Synthaney
