To judge the man based on a teaching technique for beginners would be a mistake. Criticizing videos is what is easy. The knife is his specialty. Pray you or your gurus never have to face him.

With all respect that technique is wrong, if you push the knife you will help the attacker to cut your throat!! There is a principlo of kenpo that is called angle of less resistance, in this case is used against you if you do that.

It does look dangerous, but if you watch closely he pulls his head and neck away from the blade, and then back into the attacker's inner elbow before he pushes the knife across. So his neck would be clear of the blade before he pushes it across. I wonder if this should be proceeded by a stomp to the foot or a heel to the shin bone before attempting the escape.

This is an incredibly dangerous technique that I think won't work 90% of the time. Anyone who has a knife at your throat will PRESS IT to your skin. by striking the back of their hand you're intentionally sliding that blade across your neck... effectively killing yourself.

The way the attacker is holding the knife is like a limp log . If I had the knife - the knife would be pressed against his neck so hard - it would actually cut the surface - there would be a little blood - but not enough to kill - unless the attackee moves his neck in any way shape or form.

i don't think a lot of comments are realizing you move your neck AS WELL AS moving the knife...done at the same time people watch the video closely (or with your eyes open really!).

I'm sorry, but if you push a knife like that you're going to slash your carotid artery and bleed out. Granted, they are probably going to kill you anyway so might as well do something, but when a blade is moved in a sawing motion is cuts. I just don't buy it.

@alumynabjj My intent is to show that I did my homewrok when searching for a school. IMHO, people berate these schools rather unfairly. Hence the mutiple posts. Tell me, do you us the same language every time someone does something you don't like? Are you a MA student? Is that what your school teaches you? I'm sure they don't teach that at Villaris.

Everybody always has a comment or a critique of Martial Arts Demonstrations. Fact of the matter is none of the shit works. I dont care what school your from. If you are in a knife fight you are gonna get cut or killed .
