Reminds me of my youth, driving around in my Leyland Allegro.... Brill times........

@REDPUNK1VINYL I'm not really interested in arguing with another decent metalhead, mate. Debate and discuss sure, but not argue.
And Onslaught have always been the kind of band to come out and talk to the fans after and before shows. Been to see them a few times now, and every single time I've been able to at least say hi and share a few words with someone from the band, and are more than happy to answer questions like that. Fantastic guys, to be honest.

@xSODxDeMoNiaC I salute your honesty on the slight cock up,I was dreading that this would turn into a(nother)youtube argument just because we had a differing opinion,I never heard any of the band from the PFH period stating Venom as a particular influence and didn't realise that Nige has stated otherwise so probably my bad aswell. I agree that they are a major force on the live arena no matter what the line up was/is even back to the pre PFH days right up to the SOV days and beyond.

@REDPUNK1VINYL Holy fucking shit. I missed the second comment I made, and only read the part were I said that 'Onslaught were hardly a copy of Venom'.
My bad, dude. They were listening to Venom before the release of PFH, and as such, did influence them to an extent, as Nige has said, both to myself and others. But on that particular album, the hardcore scene at the time was a much more significant influence.
Also, I fucking love this band. In-fucking-credible live.

@xSODxDeMoNiaC It says here "Venom were one of their heaviest influences" relating to PFH which was early Onslaught, can't see how that is the exact opposite???? though you're correct in stating that Onslaught were still finding their identity though with 3 albums and 3 different vocalists its hard to say if they ever found it,I guess The Force is the one that everybody relates to.
-
@REDPUNK1VINYL I never said they were an influence on early Onslaught. In fact, read it again. That was the exact opposite of what I said. And I know Venom was a NWOBHM band, however the reason for the ambiguity is hardly unbelievable. I'm well aware of Onslaught's early influences, thanks.

@xSODxDeMoNiaC Venom were nevr an influence on early Onslaught, they grew up listening to Discharge and other hardcore PUNK bands and turned to metal when they heard early demos/albums by the likes of Metallica, slayer, anthrax, excit
er and yes,Venom are a NWOBHM band, for some reason people seem to think they are an early black/death/thrash metal band!!!!? -
Better than Metalica

How the fuck can I be such a thrasher and barely know Onslaught? This is a very underrated band
