I don't think this is that slow at all..
I think the lens has got a great value for money.

I think closer to 400 it does get slow. It's pretty much for static or very slow moving targets only. It is faster towards the shorter end though.
I think the lens is great value for the price without a doubt. The next cheapest thing in the focal range costs about $300 more.
