Half-Life running under Wine on ArchLinux on a Acer Aspire One

UN FUCKING PLAY ABLE

Mesa wouldn't get out of software rendering and after 2 days of trying with the offical Arch packages I decided to update everything from source. Got it running at 40 FPS after installing a custom Mesa package that's newer than the one offered from Arch, it's also 2 months old. Someone needs to get on that.

  • you probably have no dri

    try install mesa-utils and run this command in the terminal:

    glxinfo

    or

    glxgears

  • you need to change the xorg.conf file to see if you have the right driver.

    you probably use vesa atm.

    you need the propper intel driver.

    i was able to run this game at 60 fps on my laptop with via s3 proddr, 200MB ram and athlon xp 2400 1.79ghz

  • Maybe you should try Arch which is made for the Acer One
