Cats are beautiful creatures and TNR works!

It constantly amazes me how ignorant some people can be. All you have to do with feral cats is to trap, spay/neuter and release. Then they can continue to live a normal life, and reduce the amount of feral cats. I believe that humans pose the bigger risk to the enviroment, especially the stupidity that is certain individuals. There is NEVER a reason to kill something for "population" control" that is the biggest joke ever. If I have severe people problems, what should I do about that?

@Tigerheartwarrior No worries mate, I didn't think you would ha ha. But can I at least tell you this: Feral cats down here are responsible for the extinction of several species of native marsupials and birds. They're an introduced species, and don't actually belong in our ecosystem. TNR only works to prevent breeding, but they're still out there killing. Just thought I'd give you an insight. Spare a thought for Oz's little animals that can't defend themselves against a hungry pussy!

@FormulaOneFan4Eva I AGREE I KILL FEREL CATS ALL THE TIME THEY GET INTO MY TRASH AND THE KITTENS JUST SHIT ON MY LAWN IM SHOT THEM SMASHED THEM AND KICKED THEM TOO!!!!

We have a program here that TNR's and allows people to get a cat that needs it for their barns to rid of pests, or just have a country home.

Also, good job on your fostering, barflea 1!!

WELL SAID!!

Also, if you lived in my area you would see how TNR has kept the numbers quite low. All cats hunt BUT I would rather have fewer managed ferals then countless numbers that hunt for sport and hunger. I'm down to 8 feral cat near my home. So yeah it works.

I understand that feral cats are a problem. But I found removing them does not work for very long. The vacuum effect comes in, letting the left over cats to breed to make up for the ones taken or shot. When rescues do TNR they make sure to neuter every cat they can. Plus the neuter cats prevent new ones coming in. Un-neutered cats welcome new ones to breed.

Hawks, Falcons, Eagles, Owls,Crows ect...all kill song birds and eat their eggs, do you suggest we rid ourselves of these predators too?
Wait - are we in Australia here? Because if it's Australia, there is absolutely no room for feral cats on our land, and they all need to be shot. For the sake of our native wildlife, and if you were a true conservationist, you'd agree. But I guess you don't and never will understand how the true balance of an ecosystem works...
It's OK though, you can relax because there is no way in our lifetimes that we'll see the complete eradication of them. More fun for the shooters, I guess!!!

yeah TNR is a good way to solve this problem. But we dont have to shoot them to help them....

you are crazy!! We dont need to kill cats to help decrease the amount of ferals in the wild. The best answer is trap, spay/nuetr, release
