From www.proguitarshop.com, the Retro-Sonic Phaser is based on the classic MXR Phase 90 Script logo. This is the same vintage 4 stage phase circuit with a few new additions to make it a more versatile pedal. Instead of just handling the speed of the effect, the Retrosonic version includes Rate, a Depth control which allows you to dial in the intensity of the effect, and a level control for matching unity gain or adding some signal boost. Retro-Sonic matches a set of FETs for the best possible phasing experience and uses the highest quality components. And of course, True Bypass is standard as well as a heavy duty enclosure

  • is this with a new recording set up?

  • That's right! All new Retro Sonic demos with our better recording setup are up, except for the Delay which is still on order!

    Thanks,

  • Distortion!? lol

  • I have read that this pedal sounds sterile compared to the original script, is this correct? I was hoping they would be the same considering the retro is based of the MXR circut plan. Also is this a bit brighter than the EHX Small Stone? I like that pedal but I would prefer something with a volume and depth knob.

  • once you hear the maxon pt9 pro plus , all othe phasers sound like toys

really..... and the retro sonic is good, just dont put it next to the maxon :)

  • This or the Earthquaker devices? Both are in my price range. I'm primarily playing ambient music and stoner rock, think Kyuss meets Ryan Farish and Brian Eno, but played on guitar.

  • Never thought I'd hear Sun King on a pedal demo.

  • Doesn't sound like a phaser, more like a Vibe pedal in chorus mode. Also, Breathe was played through a Uni-Vibe, SRV and Trower as well. Why buy a phaser for those sounds? Cheapo's and bar bands will love these, I sure don't

  • @richedie "I tried the Retro and I dropped out of the mix. Put the MXR back on the board and there you go....stood out in the mix again!" What a load of bullshit. Remove R28 and you lose that feedback boost you are getting. In other words you are not comparing script to script, but script to block.

  • what is that opening song with the picture of all the guitars?

  • Sun King... great idea for phaser testing. Andy, you really do some serious homework.
