My primary computer is a Compaq Presario SR1010NX with a Celeron 2.7Ghz, 512MB RAM, and Vista. im downgrading back to XP.

@alistairstuart2009 Same thing here. It makes a hroible noise, I was only joking about the smoking part lol. Yeh, mine did the same, I just took it down the dump. I couldnt do much, I do upgrade computers, but that one is to old to upgrade.

What specific model of Deskpro? What does it have for a CPU? How much RAM?
My primary work computer is a Compaq Presario 5365 with Windows 2000. It's an AMD K6-2 processor and 256 MB of RAM. It boots just a little bit faster than yours.

I had a Deskpro en with Windows XP on it, I was downgrading it to 2000, but then it crashed

@techkid100 i would try puting xp back on it or try to reinstall windows 2000, it could be the disk that is dirty or a faulty cd/dvd drive

Well, not really crashed but it kinda blew up and started smoking. So i took it down the tip.

it is the compaq deskpro 2000 it has a 166Mhz P1 cpu, i tryed a AMD K6 550MHz but it didnt work. it has 512 meg of sd ram pc 133 i think
