There is a libertarian argument FOR a green shift. Land and natural resources are titles (privileges) of government. Taxing land and natural resource consumption is not aggressive like income taxes, and internalizes environmental costs to industry. The key is to SHIFT from labor to land, from trade to resources, from people to privilege.

More money in your pocket due to the fact that the government will no longer be receiving any money from oil anymore is not a sacrifice.
Wearing a painters mask to breath like they do in Bejeing is more of a sacrifice in my mind.
Cleaner Air and more money in peoples pockets do not seam like a big sacrifice at all when you think of the black sky oil produces.
I'm sick of paying money to fill my car up when a battery, alternators and electric motor could power my car without using any money.

Why not just ban oil?
Green technologies have been around for 50 years or more.
The First model T produced in the 20's was run on ethanol made from hemp body panels that biodegrade and the engine oil was hemp. In the 1920's that car had more technology than my 2000 car. They both do the same thing but one ran a lot cleaner.
people have been making electric cars for less than 20k in their backyard due to the fact that the car companies refuse to do so.
We don't have to sacrifice a thing.

We as a world need SACRIFICE and if that involves taxing all forms of carbon to encourage green technologies......SO BE IT.
Business won't change because of fear of the future...they will change for fear of their bottom line.
This is a BOLD PLAN that will force canadians to enter the new green economy
I'm all for it......GO DION!
