Joseph Martin Kraus (1756-1792)

Proserpin (1781)
Opera in 1 act

Libretto: Johan Henrik Kellgren (after Gustav III)

As you can hear the opera was performed in German and that means that I'm not going to post anything else. I would have left out the chorus too but I just couldn't figure out where to make the cut.

  • It's quite dreadful to hear Kellgren's beautiful poetry in german! But i am happy you uploaded it anyway, is it a private or a radio recording?

  • Radio broadcast, I presume, the audio quality is very good.

    Pity about the translation.
