Civil Emergency Message/Boil Water Advisory Nashville, TN 5/3/2010

The situation has taken a turn for the worse; now TEMA is urging residents in and around the flood area to boil water due to several water treatment facilities being compromised. The flood waters have reached LP Field and evacuations are taking place in several neighborhoods. The Cumberland River is forecast to crest at 52.5 ft at around 8 pm tonight while areas in downtown are being sandbagged. Several dams along the river including Percy Priest is releasing water in order to relieve the stress on the dams; the NWS is predicting the flood waters to rise another 1 to 2 feet before crest.
