The Fiddler's Fake Book says St. Anne's Reel is French Canadian. Also, when my fiance played this song for my French Canadian dad, he recognized it from his youth.
Nice job! Yes St. Anne's Reel is originally an Irish tune -- but it is played everywhere these days so I suppose some get confused on the origin. Nice picking. I posted a genuine French-Canadian dance tune a while ago called Glise de Sherbrooke -- check it out its easy and fun to play.
