  • *sigh* i just got my senegal, so he is not used to me, but i still dream of the day we become best of friends like this

  • @KrisaurusFlanger Hang in there! It can take a little time to build trust, which makes sense when you think about it. Just keep letting him set the pace and get to know you better when he is ready to trust you more and you'll be there! My little guy is sitting on my knee watching me type this.

  • @maxpionus nice parrot.

A pet store told me that sells senegal parrots for about 100 euros=150 usd.Is this right? because I heard that are more expensive?

  • @Sofokleousma That does sound really low. My Masti was a rehome. He was 7 years old when I got him and I've now had him another 7. I volunteer with the Phoenix Landing Foundation and the adoption fee for a Senegal is $200 USD.

  • He has the most bright orange I've seen on a Senegal parrot, he's just beautiful. My half-moon conure does the whispering thing too sometimes, its so sweet, but then he usually yells out something really loud right into my ear immediately after

  • I love how he keeps pointing to his neck begging for a scratch. He seems very intelligent as well as adorable ^_^

  • More like the asshole of the bird world, we had one that would mooch alot. we never in fact fed the bird anywhere else but in his cage he just figured it out. He would also beg to be pet but it was usually a trick to lure your finger closer so he could unleash a surprise attack. Not fun having a bird latch on to you and rip you up. Can opener with wings.

  • @cuudaal He's about 9 inches "long" and weighs 146 grams.

  • @dharmabird67 there is a chance they could bond to each other but if you make sure they are well socialized you should be ok. Buy from a reputable breeder who hand raises their birds and make sure you spend individual time with them. I have my two senegals caged together and they do just fine. While they perch and sleep together, they are quite affectionate with both myself and my bf and are not aggressive at all. They truly are lovely birds and so intelligent.

  • @Mr291229 I have read that senegal's are the more quiet of the parrots... i just got one a few days ago.. lol actually i wasnt expecting to get a parrot at all a week ago but this old lady couldnt take of hers anymore so i got Pete ... he was silent the first two days because he was shy.. he is starting to come out of his shell and is quiet most of the day... when he does chirp.. he can be quite loud.. actually my dog is scared of him because she hates loud noises lol

  • @Mr291229 Naturally it depends on the individual parrot - but I've lived in a condo (thus had shared walls) with both my pis and senegal in the past. They can be loud at times. I was super conscience of my city's municipal quiet hours, however, and didn't wake up my guys until 7:00am, when quiet hours ended. I worried at times my neighbors could hear them but when I asked the neighbors, they said they hadn't known I had birds - so must not have been bothered.

  • @maxpionus I have a question, I want to know which one of these birds are good for an apartment the senegal or the pionus?
