Yes On Proposition 8: Counter Ad!

Vote No On 8!, Don't Eliminate Marriage For Anyone

I was so appalled by the "Yes on 8" campaign ad, so i thought i would make a parody video in response. It makes fun of their ad, but is actually quite serious.

Most facts and figures courtesy of GLSEN: Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, and amazing "organization for students, parents, and teachers that tries to affect positive change in schools." (i use their statistics, but i am in no way affiliated with this organization)

Vote No On 8, Don't Eliminate Marriage For Anyone! Really, the proposition doesn't even make sense. It is NOT attempting to alter religions, or churches, or damn religious folks to hell (promise), it only looks to give the rights and responsibilities associated with legally recognized marriage to all people, regardless of their identities.

As a society we deemed anti-miscegenation laws (look it up if you don't know the word) to be unconstitutional (before we accepted civil rights), so the LEGAL acceptance of same sex marriages is, in my opinion, a logical progression; and from there we can work on defeating heterosexism and homophobia!

Prop 8 is trying to change the law to TAKE AWAY rights that have already been established. It will not create any of the things that the protectmarriage commercials say it will because, quite simply, LGBTQ marriage is already allowed by the law and none of those things have happened; and it is not logical to believe that any of them ever will. VOTING NOW ON PROPOSITION 8 WILL KEEP MARAGE THE WAY IT IS NOW! BETWEEN TWO LOVING PEOLPE WHO WANT TO COMMIT TO SPENDING THEIR LIVES TOGETHER!

Once we rid the law heterosexism and homophobia we can begin to fight it!

SPECIAL THANKS TO: biggtk, Kaola, hotblondie111, Shiza1123, and others who have been the voice of reason and logic in their comments! Yes, i know these people all agree with my position... BUT i would love to give a shout out to a yes on 8 commenter, but i have yet to read anything that has made even a LITTLE bit of sense.... probably because prop 8, heterosexism and homophobia make no sense?!
