  • You know alot of people tell me that, my reply is I already work as a network administrator for multiple companies. And I constantly get work. So you can say all you want. I worked hard to get were I am, just to have some person on the internet act like a smart ass. Break from tradition sometimes you go further.

  • and ...why do u have a serverrack in your room ?

also , get a smaller switch , u only use 5 ports while u have 30 free or so,. you think your gona "grow " so much that you may need them al? dont think so, say hi to virtualization....

    .

"rackmounting is the future" lol... NOT in your room man ...

yeah i sound very negative, but youtube is full with videos of "geeks" showing their "servers" wich they actualy dont need at all.

  • @pyckMeister

No I did it to study to learn how to do this as a job. Im too lazy to go to college so I learn on my own. I like server racks because I have a plan in the future to put all of computers in there for the whole home to access, but thats the future. In the mean while I cant do virtualization because good servers are expensive. Right now Im using about 16 of the 24 jacks on the ip switch, its for future mate. I buy to have for a long time

  • I dont like hipsters. Your kind is not welcome here.

  • What's wrong with 'mac' geeks? Mac Server is really nice and quieter compared to other 19" racks. I'm running Mac,Win7, and FreeBSD but I don't run 19" racks in my room anymore because of noise, power,& lack of bandwidth. Rather, real geeks would send their servers to co-location dc, which is what i did. Instead, I have 2 Sun Cobalt Qube 3 in my room that runs quiet and sips little power. PS: Google employees run mac.

  • @up0 Google employees may run that, but I choose not to. Ive always said people like apple because their products are shiny. And google runs their own servers. Not Apples or "macs"
