Chapter 30

Have you ever had a dream so scary you just want to wake up? But what if you wake up to find that it is all real?

Taylors Perspective
Where am I? Why cant I see anything? What is that noise? Is someone crying? I heard a boy, was it Josh, ask whats wrong with her? An older male answered Shes in a coma that was caused by a concussion. She also has a broken leg Then the boy who sounded like Josh asked What about Kevin? when I heard this, my senses tingled. I heard the man answer Im sorry. Its hospital policy only to share patient information with family members. Hospital? Was that where I was? I heard a women speak Go tell them what happened. Theyre her friends and they deserve to know how she is I tried to speak, tried to get there attention. I was scared. I need my momma and daddy. I need Josh and Adam and Abby and Eli and Marco. I need Kevin. Cant anyone tell me what happened? Cant anyone comfort me and tell me itll be alright?
[A/N: Adam, Eli and Marco are Taylors other siblings besides Josh and Abby]

Normal Perspective
Josh walked into the waiting room. He saw Melissa sitting with her head on Dereks shoulder, crying while he comforted her. Adrienne was sitting in a corner of the waiting room crying while Cara, who was crying as well, tried to calm her down. Michelle was sitting with her knees pulled up and her head resting on them trying to stop her self from crying while Zac sat next to her and rubbed her back. When they saw him Melissa and Adrienne walked over to him.
Melissa- (shaking from the tears) is she ok?
Adrienne- (wiping away her tears) yea how is she?
Josh- (sighs) shes in a coma. She hit her head pretty hard and she has a concussion. Plus the guy broke her leg and she has a lot of cuts and bruises.
Melissa- oh (starts to cry again)
Adrienne- this is insane (starts crying again too)
Josh- come here you two (he hugs them while they cry) have you guys heard about Kevin yet?
Adrienne- no Joe and Nick havent come back yet with any news
Josh- ok (looks at them still crying) Hey its going to be ok. Taylors a fighter. Cheer up. Smile.
Melissa- ok (smiles)
Adrienne- *thinking- Josh was weird like that. He was funny but he mocked us too. He was like the big brother Melissa and I had never had but never really wanted either. We had him to take over the role when necessary.*
They heard footsteps and Mr. And Mrs. Jonas, Frankie and Joe walked in. Adrienne ran over to them and into Joes open arms.
Derek-hows Kevin?
Mr. Jonas- He was stabbed in the stomach. He needs surgery. We were just on our way out but we wanted to let Melissa now that Nick wants to see her.
Melissa- where is he?
Mrs. Jonas- (walks over and hugs Melissa) hes in Kevins room
Melissa- where is that?
Josh- Ill show you come on.
They start walking down the long hallway but Melissa is so weak from crying that she has trouble. Josh notices and wraps an arm around her waist. He looks at Melissa then laughs.
Melissa- what? (Confused)
Josh- I was just remembering when you and Taylor were in 8th grade and you told everyone I was your boyfriend (she laughs)
Melissa- oh God! Dont remind me!
Josh- you never told me why you did it.
Melissa-everyone was talking about their boyfriends and I didnt have one so I told everyone you were. I never thought youd find out! How did you find out anyways?
Josh- Taylor. She thought we were secretly dating.
Melissa- she always thought me and Age had a crush on you! But youre like our brother
Josh- true (he gave her a noogie and they laughed)
They stopped when they saw how serious Nick looked. He had been crying. Melissa ran over and gave him a hug as Josh walked towards Taylors room.
Nick- you want to see him?
