members of congress, both Senators and the House of Representatives, don't pay into Social Security but do have a special retirement plan that continues their active salary until death.
The email encourages pulling "...the Golden Fleece retirement out from under the Senators and Congressmen, and put them in Social Security with the rest of us."

Think about how a an average young person contributes 15% of their income (as their employers pay 7.5% less because of this mandatory tax) and are receiving 1 to 2% growth while entrenched in student loan debt of 7-20% interest. How bout an older/single individual that pays in thier entire life with no beneficiaries on death.
