Just to the south of the St. Lucia, World Heritage Conservation Site is located Monzi in KwaZulu-Natal. It is an area racked by AIDS and extreme poverty. A local farmer built a small Creche' for the local AIDS Orphans and OVC's, but it needed a roof. CESLA assisted a local FBO to build a roof and veranda. A week later, gutters to collect rain water, for storage in a tank, were added. All of the well water is brackish and undrinkable, therefore, potable water has to be brought in. The children in this video have NEVER had a bath, but bath in the rain. A month after this was filmed one of the little boys was brought to the farmer in severe distress. In a government hospital they removed over 1 and one-half kilos of sand from his stomach. The kids eat what ever the monkeys drop on the ground, and often eat sand to stop the hunger pains. YOU can help CESLA make a difference to these and other kids in similar circumstances in KwaZulu-Natal.
