Ok :). Can I also ask you why a lot of old washers will have the wash and rinse cycle but at the end you have to set it to a seperate spin cycle?

There was a purple liberator dryer, but it was to the GEC Hotpoint design and not a zanussi clone, like the 1826.
-
Was there a dryer the same style?

November 1976!
the machine has since been repaired - I will upload some more vids of it soon.
It is a great machine - so 70s with the purple styling.

Hey mate how many rinses does this machine have? And also how come it desn't have these infamous distributions that all the other hotpoints have?

I am afraid I cant remember the rinse thing, although i do remember that the cool down is lovely and high - jut over half way up the door!
The reason for the lack of Hotpoint distribution is because it aint a Hotpoint! Its actually a Zanussi S-series machine, that was commissioned by Hotpoint and sold to fill a gap in their machine lineup.

Does this machine actually distribute at all on any of the programs?

blimey - what a twit i am. Just dawned on me what you were getting at! No - no distribute whatsoever at all on this one. Its fitted with an induction motor and old induction motors only had two speed settings - basically wash and spin - one speed or the other. The machine just tumbles at wash speed and then will jump straight into spin, with no distribute.
