The problem is, a lot of ideas are linked to various others. If some good ideas are voted down, it could impact, not just this specific subject, but also a lot of other subjects. This is the very problem of today society. A lot of good solutions are ignored by most people, because of prejudices, which lead to many problems, everywhere, for all. A common topic, with a lot of prejudices (on both «sides», as often), would be, for example, abortion. How will you handle these decisions?

wow! a global consciousness! This is the future! go! I'm with you! I think the great important decision to take now to change the world is the following: is it time or not now to change the global idea of money? there is something wrong in our economic system. Please check my project!
Great idea man. Maybe it could even work in a web3.0 type way i.e. people whose advice is appreciated (rated highly) by more people have more sway on which answers are served up. It could be a self-organising, semantic interconnected global brain :-)

You gat it right man. Votes, ratings will definitely make sense. Collaboration is key too. You seem to be quite conversant with web technologies. Synergy anyone?

Hi. Your idea seems a bit deeper than the various other similar ideas posted (although I'm a bit surprised of your comment, to the official video, giving «Harvard or Oxford? Honda Accord or Toyota Camry? Dell or IBM?», as the only examples), but you are now talking about votes and ratings. What about good ideas, which go against prejudices and taboos? Do you think they would be voted up? Bye.

You raise valid points, NKohaty. However, my thinking is to add as much flexibility as possible. Concerning the few examples I cited in the official response, I could not have given an exhaustive list - I just wanted simple eye-openers. Or can you suggest better examples? When you say good ideas, are you talking about the Project responses or about implementation of my idea? Or would you prefer taking the discussion elsewhere?

Well, if we are talking about seriously changing the world, there are all kind of important subjects, like the possibility, and steps, of the transition to the idealistic society, the existence in general (who? what? why?), relationships between people, possible social problems, reproduction, health, death, beliefs, language, cities, everyday objects, techniques, energy, materials, environment, food, transmission of knowledge, art, communication, games, etc.

On votes and ratings,I figured we could borrow ideas from sites like youtube&digg but I can see the cons of those features with regards to prejudices&taboos. But what about the pros?Win some, lose some? The other option is to let users report offensive content since those should get thumbs down.Have you read Plato's Republic and arguments about the greater Good?Maybe we should encourage more basic and important decisions. But the domain of problems I target have to be enumerable into clear options.
