  • 2 kinds of folks in the USCG

MKs and passengers lol 20' seas is no place to bees in a rowboat

  • You took that wrong. Back in the 80s-90s you didn't make cpo young I would have went BM but I wanted to do more than paint

  • @cptbrentify He looked seasoned to me. Spend some time as a BM in that area and you grow up very fast.

  • those Sea King guys were heavy dopers

  • How old was that chief 25? Back in the day chiefs were well seasoned

  • Goes to show, all those resources, experience, sometimes, when it's your time, it's your time. Fair winds and following seas MK1.

  • Sadly, this is why you do not want a tow across the Columbia Bar.

Sadly, fact is, a good number of boats have floundered being towed thru the years.

I have been crossing this bar starting in 1969.

In this case, perhaps all hands should have launched a life boat or raft if it was avail. on board and made their way to nearby USCG boats.

  • We love our Coasties! We're sailors and on a world cruise...thank you USCG!

  • thanks for all you guys do! a tip of the cap goes to you guys everytime i head out across the bar.
