You took that wrong. Back in the 80s-90s you didn't make cpo young I would have went BM but I wanted to do more than paint
@cptbrentify He looked seasoned to me. Spend some time as a BM in that area and you grow up very fast.

Sadly, this is why you do not want a tow across the Columbia Bar.
Sadly, fact is, a good number of boats have floundered being towed thru the years.
I have been crossing this bar starting in 1969.
In this case, perhaps all hands should have launched a life boat or raft if it was avail. on board and made their way to nearby USCG boats.
