Music video for "Soviet Snow", by New Zealand singer-songwriter Shona Laing. Like many from this time (Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Jane Siberry), Shona had discovered the sounds of the Fairlight Music Computer, and the sound is appropriately "of its time". Great tune, though!
Another one of those "epileptic seizure" videos that were so popular at the time (not as bad as the Supertramp video I posted, though!)

awesome post! Shona sounds amazing in this song! Her album South was one of the best of the 80's in my ever so humble option! great to see the video again (even though it kind of sucks)!
But, what does it mean? I went to the Piskarov wall in 1992, in St. Petersburg, though my pilgrimage was to 'Leningrad', to kneel at the graves of those who stopped the Nazis, buried there in nearly two hundred mounds of dead, and I know that those were only few of those who died there, stopping the Nazis.
I miss the Soviet Union. Capitalism needs the opposition. It isn't as though Marxism works as much as unrestrained Capitalism needs...opposition.

"Radiation over Red Square" and "fear of freezing in the Soviet Snow"? This song can only be about Chernobyl.
"Creeping on to cross Roman Roads..." Remember how terrified Europe was of the fallout?
We're teasing like children
Love is the one solution"
