I just saw the movie "It Might Get Loud" and I decided to try and make Jack White's "Slide Guitar"

  • I wanted to do such a guitar long time ago. I also have Volumes and Tones, but I think not to use them, but I don't actually know what to do with the pick up. Do I just need to attach it to the jack output?

  • Yupp. Groud to ground and hot to hot. Thats it.

  • I think I heared "in my time of dying" Nice job

  • @cadarado425 You did indeed.

  • what string did u use? how much did the pickup cost? im gonna be building one of these soon...so yea...btw...how much for the input jack

  • @RenegadePoliceForce The string was the low E, .48 I think.

The pickup i got off my first shitty squire when i EVH'd it. The bottle is a Mike's Hard Lemonade. The wood i just found in my garage. Hope that helps.

  • lol are you playing led zeppelin?

  • To all people asking "how do i make this?!" its uhhh... Pretty self explanitory..

  • i think i heard a lil bit of led zeppelin's "In My time Of Dying"

  • awsum!!

  • 3 people bought new guitars.

  • wats the bottle do

  • Go to Stewart McDonald, STEWMACdotcom, and you can even build your own pickup. I like them wound like an old Telecaster pickup...not too hot. Or put two on it. One twang and one hot. You can wire them to run one or the other or both.

  • build one to, and it works perfect

  • @DrZaious oh and a bottle. sorry. lol.

  • @drummermahn 1 2x4 or a piece of wood similiar to size. 1 small flat piece of wood, 2 regular size nails to hold each end of the string. 2 smaller nails to attached the small flat piece of wood to the 2x4 and 1 nails to attached the guitar pick up to the small flat piece of wood.

the hardest part to making this guitar would be grounding the wires and thats not even that hard. If you don't know whty ou are doing there, ask you dad or uncle or a neigbore.
