Cricket and 3001 doubleheaded for two more trips, then it was time to cool it down, and let 3001 do the work for the rest of the day.

  • what happened to cricket?

  • Her boiler gave up in early 2007, and had to go to Fresno to be rebuilt.

  • RMI does rebuilds?

  • It's not RMI, this is an old Ottaway 4-4-0, it was sent to a man in Fresno for a rebuild

  • When a live steam locomotive breaks down, they just never put them in museums or scrap them. They just keep rebuilding them. I'm very proud of that! :)

  • love the 3001 and the cricket

  • Oh, I know it's not an RMI, but as RMI is based out of Fresno, I was wondering if they also performed rebuilds on other similarly-scaled live steamers (I'm building one of the original WATO-castings 2-4-2's right now, and we're trying to figure out who manufactured the boiler; other than the certification stamp, there is no identification).

  • Again awesome! So glad she is back in service.
