This is actually quite an interesting issue. The one thing that should be said I think is that the liberal party have always been more accepting of conflicting points of view and debate within their party than the labor party has been within their party. There is a much stronger sense of 'follow the leader' in labor, it is just a consequence of their history and their general approach toward politics. The liberal party is internally more democratic and than labor.

Did anyone in the united Liberal WAR front ever tell little Johnie it was a team, his agenda certainly didn't reflect the view of the caucus on many occasions, and this clown is the biggest joke i've seen in the last 30yrs of observing parliement, which doesn't matter now that their a carcass. Plenty wrong with what he said. Firstly, a party should be a team, but not completely united in everything they do. When the party caucus makes decisions instead of individual members the government becomes a bit of a dictatorship, but with more people on the payroll.
