@ericcarmenfan Is it cello or banjo? Maybe I'm listening for a different part. The banjo's playing under the "na-na-na-naaa-na-na" parts.

When I was a kid I had a version of this by Herb Alpert. It was great. Can't find it anywhere now. :(

i like the beach boys during the period from 1966-1971 the best. Their early stuff if awesome too, but it doesn't stand a chance to this stuff.

@ericcarmenfan Yes, Brian sounds so lovely here, I love the na na na's. Who needs lyrics when you have that much music in your soul?

@truthasfineprint I actually think it sounds a bit more "White Album" than "Pepper." "Friends" was a very good album in the wake of "Smiley Smile" and "Wild Honey" (which was a pretty good album too). "Friends" place in The Beach Boys catalog would have probably been even better if it had followed "SMiLE" (had it been released). But the good news is, we are FINALLY GETTING "SMiLE" ON NOV. 1st!

It's always great to see how well Brian and Dennis worked together. Don't you just love the cellos??Brian's voice was in beautiful form.
I love how they were able to work Child is The Father of The Man in there.
