This is a test of the Sony ECM-MS907 stereo mic. I bought a shock mount for it at Guitar Center. This set up is nice because you don't need pre-amps or sound checks or specialized mixing to get a decent sound. It's pretty much plug and play.

ArcSoft .mov file.

  • Hi there! Fantastic playing! I have the Kodak zi8 camera as well and I need a mic to record some live music at concerts. I've tried to use the on-board mic and it cannot handle the loudness of concerts. I purchased a small lapel mic and i had the exact opposite problem, very low audio with zero bottom end. I need to condense, but retain bass. Is this a good option? Do you think it's too big to rig around my neck ot attached to a hat at shows? Thx so much!

  • @79sabres I'd hate to tell you yes and then it not work up to your standards...I think it would work fine but recording live concerts with one mic usually doesn't work out too well, at least that's been my experience. Capturing a live performance takes lots of professional equipment and a sound engineer who has lots of experience. Trying to get a recording of a live performance is usually rough at best.

  • You should be able to plug it directly into your computer.

  • Not bad for a cheap mic.

  • is the mic big?

  • @kalakalachuchu

No, the mic is fairly small, look close in the video and you can see it mounted in a shock mount.

  • I have this mic. Can I plug it into my computer and record sound directly into my computer, or does it have to go to a recording device, such a camera?

  • Like it. Very low noise for mics at this price. The bass may be somewhat weak. For video cameras, it is great.

  • good for vocals?

  • Cool Taylor. my neighbor was the sister of the guy who started taylor guitars. She was rolling in dough

  • @djwayne2000 alright thanks.

The recording of the mic sounds like from the studio

    awesome guitar playing.
