This was a video meant to introduce people to the general idea of a local food system and specifically to the All-Local-Market in Columbia, SC. The idea came from Emile DeFelice, where in a letter, he described the purchasing of local food as one of the most subversive activities a person could engage in. The tone of the video sets out to "investigate" the subversiveness.
The video was shot at the market's previous location of Yo Burrito, before moving to Rosewood Market and Deli.
The All-Local-Market is a producer-only farmers' market offering fresh, local food straight from Midlands farmers and producers. The market boasts all-natural and organic produce, grass fed beef, cage free eggs, free range chicken and lamb, pastured pork, organic heirloom grains, honey, artisan breads, all-natural flowers, raw milk, baked goods, award-winning hot sauces, goat milk soaps and lotions, handmade items, and more. A State Plate breakfast featuring eggs, grits, and sausage from the market's farmers is served until 10am...so come early!
It operates year-round, 8am-noon. Every 2nd Saturday on the patio of Gervais & Vine in the Vista and every 4th Saturday at Rosewood Market at the corner of Rosewood Drive and Maple Street.
