Here we see a return of my NRM Hornby Flying Scotsman back on my channel. This time it's now been fitted with a DCC decoder chip(New Hornby Basic 4 Function). So here I show you a very smooth start using DCC control.

In the Back ground is a Bachmann class 37 with on board sound, growling it's way around the test track layout. The DCC controller that is been used is the Hornby Elite.

  • @modeltrainteen95 This model is how Scotsman was looked in 2004. I don't going to how much i pay for models, so far as to say shop around for best prices. See your local model shops, internet, toy & train fairs & exhibitons, model press for details.

  • @modeltrainteen95 V.A.T is what you pay on all stuff bought in the uk (as well as other countries). Hope your new layout is going okay.

  • @02081912Frabas Thank you. It's a great model, & careful setting up of the acceleration CV's on the decoder, can have some very smooth starts :-) cheers.

  • Looks good and smooth ride.

  • @modeltrainteen95 Yes, that's correct it's DCC ready. With this model, it's a case of trawling the 2nd hand market now, or model shops that may still have one in stock. Not sure what the current price of this model is now. Again with the V.A.T increase, the cost is more than what it was in 2004. However..... The NRM at york is releasing another new comission of this model, goes on sale around september. Black war time livery £149 & the apple green livery £146.
