Complete 2009 NHL Playoff Predictions

My complete predictions for this year's playoffs. I will add annotations (in blue) confirming my prediction right or wrong.
Created on April 13th, 2009, when the playoff matchups were officially released.

EDIT- 5/1/09 I'm done using the annotations. I'll just do my counts for each round below here.
EDIT 6/13/09- Well. 2 months after this video was made, it becomes useless. I went 15/32 with my scoring system. It would have looked a lot better if the Wings had won... it would have been 23/32, which looks a lot better. Oh well. Congratulations to the Penguins on getting way past where I thought they would be eliminated and congrats on winning the Stanley Cup. Look for next year's predictions, hockey fans.

REMEMBER- All the below are according to my original bracket. For example, I didn't even know who was going to the Conf. Semifinals before I picked the team moving past that round. My round-by-round predictions turned out much better.
Advancing to Conf. Semifinals- 5/8 (worth 1 point)
Advancing to Conf. Finals- 1/4 (worth two points)
Advancing to SC Finals- 2/2 (worth 4 points)
Stanley Cup Champion- Right/WRONG (worth 8 points)

Im a sharks fan and of course I want the sharks to go all the way, but your right with the wing's experience in the play offs... It would be an intense match up, and if any team were to win it'd be in 7 : P

I think, being somewhat neutral (it would be cool to see the west win again) that Game 7 was everything a casual fan could want. Obviously, we're not casual fans, but that game was exciting, and was probably a deep heartbreak for wings fans. I'm excited for next year, and for the first time in a long time, there's gonna be another team in the Central lookin for the division..

While because of history, it's very hard to pick against the wings(unfortunately for me) in a Game 7 at home. The wings will most likely be hoisting the cup tomorrow. Good luck to both teams

True. Think back to the Anaheim series. Wings have a 3-2 lead, lose in Anaheim, win game 7 at home. I have no doubt we will win game 7, although it will be a nailbiter because really, anything can happen, like you said.

For me, I've learned something that anything can happen in Game 7, a prime example is the Bruins loss to Carolina at home....who knows?

Well, Detroit had their chances. Zetterberg's post, two PPs to potentially tie it, and that scrum at the end. Hopefully no Wings fans are doubting the Wings after this game. We lost by one point. We've outscored Pittsburgh 16-12 in this series. And we WILL win Friday.

So Wings fans, DONT WORRY, Be happy we will clinch it in Hockeytown.

Anyways, I give props to the Pens. They played good hockey tonight. It's a shame they'll lose Friday.

After game 6, I posted this on ESPN's website-

Hey, no worries. I expected the series to go to 7 games, I expected this to be a one goal game in favor of Pittsburgh. Detroit will win this series on home ice. Home teams will go 7-0.

No one said it would be easy, but most people said Detroit will come out on top. And they will.
