Richard Tauber singing Schumann's Ich Hab' Im Traum Geweinet in Sept., 1935 for Parlophone(Odeon). My camera microphone does not do this record and phonograph justice. If you were here you could almost believe that Tauber was standing on the other side of the horn grille!

  • The clarinetist Charles Draper, who lived to make electrical recordings, studied with a student of Mozart.

  • These connections are amazing.

  • Absolutely. People think I'm a snob because I don't care for any of the current singers. Let them listen to this!

  • That was really spooky! Thanks.

  • Wow!

  • @rondolfino Did he? I'm afraid he only ever recorded selected songs from it.

  • @saltburner Oh really? How many more channels do you have?

  • Ich liebe dieses unverkennbare [ u ] Richard Taubers und seine flimmernden acuti.

    Herzlichen Dank für die Einbringung.

  • Unbelievable reproduction of a heartbrakingly beautiful performance. Such tenderness and passion. Such masterful vocalism.

  • I believe Tauber recorded the complete Dichterliebe cycle. Why isn't this on a CD? Thankyou for this song.

  • Great. And so true.
