In April 2005 I encountered three trains at Dubbo: the 'Southern Aurora' museum train with two vintage locos, including a very smart 44 class, which had rolled in from the north through Troy Junction, the Sydney-bound XPT and a freight train that came in over the Macquarie River bridge from the direction of Narromine, hauled by a pair of locos including a very dirty 44 class. I filmed the shunting of the locos and the departure of the XPT.
@gmspeedfreak nothing goes on there now. the fuel tanks in the yards are just about all dismantled now also. i was working at the station there last a few months back
