I just found a vintage Flying Pigeon at the local landfill today. They just gave her to me!! Needs a lil' work, but in great shape considering. Can't believe I ran across this old treasure :) She'll make a nice addition to my restored 1952 Vintage Schwinn Phantom. Can't wait to learn how to restore her!!

Flying Pigeons are based on mid-1940's Raleigh Designs. 28" wheels, rod-operated brakes, and often only single-speed (although 3-speed bicycles were available). Lugged steel frame is virtually bomb-proof, and these steel steeds often out-last their owners. I am currently restoring a similar bicycle made in Australia by a Sydney-based company called Speedwell. It's believed to be at least 45 years old, and as it currently wears a "UNIVERSE" badge, it is probably closer to 70 years old.

Now available in NYC - Greenwich and Canal -- in wonderful colors like tangerine and fuscia

These are very durable bicycles. Millions are in circulation, most of them were passed on from the 60's and stuff.

Coolest bicycles EVER!! Want one too!

These are currently manufactured bikes. They are some of the most durable in the world. Better get one now, before the total economic collapse. Great transportation when you can't buy gas. Hardly ever breaks down. Maintenance is easy. I do not sell them and am not connected with the company in any way. I just researched them on the internet.
