the fastest winds created was the TSar Bomb of a projected wind speed of over 5,000 miles per hour. thats a bad day for anything :P

@gothbro111 your going to need the right kind of ammonium nitrate, it has to be a certain percent , or otherwise the ammonium nitrate will do nothing, even adding fuel oil to it wont do nothing, but if its potent it will be easy to go boom

tim mcveigh dont play around

@blazeclicker really? have you ever even seen a real explosive in real life? and you cant just make a bomb with AN fertilizer. if you knew what you were talking about, you would know why and you wouldnt even be asking the question on YouTube. wrote several manuals huh? all cuz you read stuff on the internet? i take it you havent had any formal training or education on this from the sound of your comments. oh, and a CO2 bomb isnt considered an explosive. you cant even compare it to tatb or rdx

@michaelfreudiger hey chill dude i look up how to make explosives and ive even wrote several manuals from step by step instructions dosent mean im going to go around bombing people ive made small co2 cartrige bomb for fishing in my stock pond Lol but in all honesty your right just because you CAN make an explosive DOSENT mean you should because you have a 50-50 chance of blowing urself through ur kitchen table and ending up horribly disfigured or worse dead

@carlespaz Standard shock tube is loaded with a thin dusting of HMX and aluminum, electrostatically adhered to the tubing.
HMX is a powerful high explosive compound. The shock tube is not given a spark, rather it is initiated via detonation, and its a detonation front that travels through the tube.
Pretty much everything you said is wrong, please check your facts before spreading misinformation.

@TripingAIR Does not sound like there's any escape from this weapon I'm grateful at the fact it's rare

@Deader87 Sure is. but those kind of speeds dissapate quite rapidly the farther away from the blast you get. but even though it dissipates alot, 1500 mile per winds will still do the job. But that close you will be incinerated before anything. Worst will be miles out getting severe heat, then the imminent blast wave. that will destroy everything with mass amounts of overpressure just crushing everything. Absolute last resort weapon.
I have alot of ammonium nitrate, how do I make a big bomb with it? I have aluminum powder, potassium chlorate, parrafin, and alot of other good explosive stuff I just need a ratio that wont blow up when I mix them

@gothbro111 its comments like this that suggest you have no common sense. just cause it is possible does not mean you need to go and make a device. furthermore, it is not cool to make such things, these people are doing it to understand and reconstruct a past tragedy. the physics of the explosion is why i have posted this video. also, its comments like this that land you on the FBI watch list. in fact, im gonna do the USA a service and just leave this comment here. grow up stupid!!!

How does the shock cord work?

the video explains it right at the beginning. there is a thin dusting of explosives through the tube, and an igniter ignites the explosives,,,which travels down the tube.
