The Profit: The movie SCIENTOLOGY doesn't want you to see

"The Profit" is a light comedy, fictional account of a man who starts his own bogus religion (based on L.Ron Hubbard and Scientology) by movie director and former Scientologist Peter Alexander. Alexander left the cult after 20 years, and in so doing left behind a family forced by the cult to disconnect from him entirely. Alexander was followed by 7 private investigators during the making of the film, harrassed, embarrassed and submitted to the full force of Co$'s fair game policy. He made this film, his first, in an effort to teach the world what he had to learn the hard way.

Because the Scientologists made sure it was banned. I had the pleasure of being invited to see this movie by the owner of Cinema and Drafthouse in Clearwater when it was briefly released. It was fucking hilarious! Having grown up in Clearwater and seeing all the little Scientologists milling around downtown all dressed the same in their little uniforms like little mindless robots believing in this science fiction created bullshit is mind blowing! A real church does NOT make you pay to belong!!
