BROKEN DOWN WALLS
From Poems by Doreen Irvine, Life s Treasures (1999)

(For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Ephesians 2: 14 )

Once I stood behind a wall, a wall of sin and shame,
The wall was high and ugly, and each brick had a name,
Bricks of hate and anger, bricks of fear and doubt,
Rebellion, pride and thousands more, that shut the sunlight out.

Each time I tried to scale it, to rid me of my fears,
More bricks of disappointment, dashed hopes, and bitter tears;
The walls closed in around me, and quickly it became,
A prison house, a dungeon, with ball and lock and chain.

Then into that dark dungeon this glorious message came,
That Jesus really loved me, and died to bear my shame;
The cruel nails that pierced Him, each thorn that made His crown,
Each stripe He bore to save me and break the sin walls down.

I cried, Dear Lord, forgive me, I give my heart to thee;
Oh wash me, cleanse me, heal me, set this poor prisoner free.
A radiant light from heaven broke through the prison wall,
He snapped the chains and whispered, I forgive you all.

He chased away the darkness, He cast out all my fears,
With His gentle nailscarred hands, He dried those bitter tears.
There is no condemnation, He bought me with His blood,
My sins are gone forever, beneath that crimson flood.

Now different walls surround me, of Holy fire and love,
For Jesus is my fortress, He guards me from above;
He is my sure foundation, my strong chief corner stone,
His light and love will guide me, and lead me safely home.

  • @FluroUnderwear I'm sorry if I offened you in any way, because that wasn't my attentions. It's just I know the devils tricks, and one of them is to push the thought that he and God doesn't exist. But you do realize,if your'e seeking powers, someone is giving them to you, and that someone is the devil and his minions. Just one thing to remember, the devil never gives any thing for free.

  • @busaboo And that is where you and I can never agree. You're Chritsian. I'm Pagan. Two different belief systems. Can't we just respect each other beliefs and get along?

  • @FluroUnderwear You're decieved if you think you get your powers from the "universe" You're getting your powers from satan and that's the bottom line. All powers are dark powers that come from satan and his angels.

  • @datookrjobs Normal human being? What makes Pagans "creepy shit"? Christianity is a religion. So is Paganism. We're all enitled to our beliefs. Don't discriminate-- it only gives your entire religion a bad name. Pagans did nothing to harm anybody. If I recall; Pagans were actually the ones burnt at the stake by Christians for no reason other than prejudice and fear. Get your facts right before making ludicrous, offensive comments.

  • @datookrjobs I do. I have read the bible. Lucifer is the name used before Satan was actually Satan. Lucifer was an angel who "went against god". He then became Satan. Though; still has nothing to do with Paganism.

  • @datookrjobs The universe. All witches, black or white, get their power from the universe. Our God is the universe.

    Witches do not believe in Satan. Satan is a Christian concept. Paganism is a heathen religion. (A religion that does not believe in Christ) Just because you believe one thing, that doesn't mean everything else is evil. You're entitled to believe in God, Satanists are entitled to believe in Satan, and Pagans are entitled to believe in other Gods/Goddesses.

  • @busaboo Of course "god" hates all "that kind of stuff". It's a completely different religion. They're two conflicting beliefs that cannot coexist.

  • @FluroUnderwear godness do you know that lucifer is a name for the devil

  • @barbs19788 i know please tell me your a normal human being not some pagan or someother creepy shit

  • @FluroUnderwear and were do white witches get there power from? and i dont respect those believes if they believe in satan that means they obviusly know there is a god and they go agenst good to tamper with evil and do harm to good people
