CRUISING ON A JONAS BROTHERS LOVE STORY SEQUEL chp 30

JOE: Kevin, let go of me!
[Kevin had dragged Joe around the corner of the building]
KEVIN: An engagement? What were you thinking?
JOE: I love her. What else do you need to know?
KEVIN: This is a big commitment. Do you think either of you are even ready for it?
[Joe was getting tired of Kevin's questions already]
JOE: Yes, Kevin. I wouldn't have asked her if I didn't.
KEVIN: What did Mom and Dad say?
JOE: They don't know yet.
KEVIN: [Sarcastically] Oh, of course they don't.
JOE: What's you're problem? Shouldn't you be happy for me? And Sheryll?
[Kevin glared at his brother before he turned his eyes away]
JOE: Oh, I know. You're still jealous aren't you? You haven't gotten over her.
[It wasn't a question. Joe could sense it]
JOE: Why won't you say anything? I know I'm right. Kevin, get over it. Get over her. She's happy now. If you can't be happy for her, can't you at least be happy for your brother?
KEVIN: [Sighing] I am happy for you. I'm just worried you're both too young to get into something you might not be ready for.
JOE: [Smiling] Don't worry. We're not getting into anything we can't handle.
[Kevin gave up all his anger. He knew he couldn't talk his brother out of this. It would only lead to a huge fight]
KEVIN: You're telling Mom and Dad.
JOE: I know, I know. And you can be my best man.

[Everyone settled in for the 5-hour drive to Dallas. Nick, Frankie, Sarah, and Sam fought for the Wii controller while Joe and Sheryll had a quiet conversation in the middle of them]
SHERYLL: What happened between you and Kevin?
JOE: We just talked.
SHERYLL: How'd he take the news?
JOE: He was mad at first.
[Joe didn't want to tell Sheryll it was because of jealousy]
JOE: But now he's happy for the both of us.
SHERYLL: Good. I didn't want to cause any more fights between you two.
[Sheryll kissed Joe on the cheek before she grabbed the Wii remote from Nick who was trying to keep it away from Frankie]
NICK: Hey.
SHERYLL: [Laughing] Work on your grip.
[Nick was going to make a retort but Joe was staring him down. The rest of the trip went the same. Sheryll put the ring back in its case and put it under her pillow. As they drove into the parking lot of the concert venue, a screaming group of fans brought the brothers to the front of the bus. They waved at their fans. The girls watched from the tinted windows]
SAM: Wow.
SARAH: I've forgotten how popular they are.
SAM: These girls haven't.
SARAH: I'm glad we don't have to go through that line.
[Sheryll walked in rubbing her eyes]
SHERYLL: I'm guessing we're here.
SARAH: As if their fans aren't a giveaway.
SAM: Did you have a good sleep?
SHERYLL: I guess. Why?
SAM: Cause we want to sit front row. Backstage is too boring.
SARAH: Yeah, and we can't show off backstage.
[Sheryll laughed at her friends and they chose their outfits for the night]

[Kevin did some push ups while Joe and Nick warmed their voices up]
NICK: I'm going to look for my chocolate.
[Nick walked into the adjoining room]
[The girls knocked on the door before they came in]
KEVIN: Don't you guys look great?
SAM: Thanks.
SHERYLL: You guys better put on a good show. We'll be watching.
JOE: Are you guys sure you want to get into that crowd?
SARAH: Exactly why we aren't wearing heels.
SHERYLL: [Laughing] Yeah, just in case the girls want to jump us.
SAM: The crowd doesn't look too rowdy tonight at least.
[Nick walked in with a mouth full of chocolate]
SARAH: Nick, are you sure you should be eating that?
[Nick tried to answer but the chocolate blocked the sound in]
JOE: Nick, just close you're mouth. We don't need to see what you're chewing.
[Nick swallowed]
NICK: I was trying to say the girls look more like their going to a party.
SARAH: We wanted to dress up for the occasion.
JOE: [Smiling] Sheryll told you?
[Sheryll's eyes flashed a warning to Joe]
SARAH: Told us what?
SAM: Sheryll?
SHERYLL: Uh...
SAM: Tell us.
SARAH: What is it?
[Joe walked up next to Sheryll]
JOE: [Whispering] Maybe now's the time to tell them?
SHERYLL: I was going to save it for tomorrow, but I guess...
[Sam and Sarah looked at Sheryll intently]
SHERYLL: Joe and I are... engaged.
[Sam and Sarah exchanged shock faces before they screamed]
SARAH: [Laughing] I knew something was going on between you two!
[Sam and Sarah ran to Sheryll and hugged her tightly]
SAM: We're so happy for you.
[Sheryll was glad her best friends were finally in on it]
SHERYLL: [Smiling] Thanks.
SARAH: [Looking at Sheryll's left hand] Where's the ring?
SAM: I want to see it.
SHERYLL: I'll show it to you later. It's on the bus.
[Big Rob came in just then]
BIG ROB: 10 minutes till show time. I'll walk the girls to their seats.
SARAH: Ok.
[The girls wished the boys good luck on the show. Sheryll kissed Joe for extra luck]
JOE: Aren't you glad they know now?
SHERYLL: [Smiling] Yes, and thanks.
