Ah ha! The ORIGINAL Shondells! The story goes this record was a local hit (Michigan?) and then faded until.... 1966 when a radio DJ in Pittsburg picked it up and started playing. Tommy had to rush out and hire a new band!

In 1964 James re-named the band The Shondells because the name "sounded good." At this time, the Shondells were composed of Tommy James (vocals and guitar), Larry Coverdale (lead guitar), Larry Wright (bass), Craig Villeneuve (keyboards) and Jim Payne (drums

@adnil1258 This song reminds of me of my childhood as well. Love the 60's music. I worked with a girl in the late 70's. She said her and husband had front row seats to TJ and the Shondells and that TJ was making eyes at her husband. I don't believe it.

Yes, it brings back so many great memories. My baby really DOES the HP. I have also a lot of memories from mid 60s - and specially from a totally unknown band. THE ZETTLERS. Listen to "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". A totally different style but a lot of fast Hanky Panky to the tunes.
Great. Thanks.
